ANZLIC Web Site : Upgrade of public site

The ANZLIC Web Site (the Site) has been upgraded and is now available
publicly at the same web address <http://www.anzlic.org.au/>
http://www.anzlic.org.au/. The Site has been restructured and out of date
information has been removed from the Site.

The web was considered the central focus of ANZLIC's Outreach and Promotions
Communication Plan, being the "main resource for information about ANZLIC,
its policies and products and informing people of the benefits of using
spatial information". To better communicate our message the web content has
been updated and enhanced to provide better information to a broader
audience in line with the Communication Plan.

The information is divided into the following eight categories under the
headings "About ANZLIC" and "Spatial Information" (more information about
each category can be found under "Site map" at
<http://www.anzlic.org.au/sitemap.html>
http://www.anzlic.org.au/sitemap.html): About us; News & events;
Publications (listings current ANZLIC publications and historical documents)
{NEW}; Policies & products; Industry {NEW}; Infrastructure; Issues {NEW};
and Case studies {NEW}.

Of particular interest to this group will be the section relating to
"infrastructure" http://www.anzlic.org.au/infrastructure.html
<http://www.anzlic.org.au/infrastructure.html> . This section contains
information about Australian Spatial Data Infrastructure (ASDI), the
Australian Spatial Data Directory (ASDD), standards and metadata. It will be
updated regularly to reflect developments happening in this area.

For a quick reference to all current publications on the spatial data
infrastructure go to the "publications" section
http://www.anzlic.org.au/publications.html
<http://www.anzlic.org.au/publications.html> (select "spatial data
infrastructure" from the pull down menu). Archived documents that are out of
date but still have some historical relevance can be found at
http://www.anzlic.org.au/publications_archive.html
<http://www.anzlic.org.au/publications_archive.html> .

Some current publications you can find on the Site include:

September 2002) (144.1 kb PDF)

It has been brought to my attention that some people are experiencing
problems with broken links as a result of the upgrade to the new Site. At
this stage we have not made plans to create PURLs for every address from the
old site. We are, however, monitoring feedback to assess whether critical
linkages have been broken, so please let me know if you experience any
problems.
