The Department of Sustainability and Environment
(DSE) was established in December 2002. It is responsible for activities
associated with managing the environment, water, forestry and land, as well
as strategic and statutory planning.
Spatial Information Infrastructure is the lead agency for Victoria's
spatial information policy and infrastructure, including mapping, and
geodetic, positioning and location based services. Land Victoria is responsible
for land related information, including systems for defining, valuing
and transacting in land that maintain confidence in the property market.
